Are you feeling burnt out as a parent? Tired of the same argument with your spouse or co-parent? Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed as you prepare to enter marriage or parenthood, or perhaps you’re challenged by your child or teen’s behavior. I specialize in working with children, teens, couples, and families navigating life’s challenges. The transition from partner to spouse or couple to parents is difficult to navigate and can cause conflict, leading to negative interaction patterns in relationships. Moreover, children and teens grappling with behavioral challenges can impact the entire family, causing conflict and even more behavior issues.
With my extensive background in child and adolescent development I bring a unique approach to the therapy room, allowing for age-appropriate connection and intervention. Such aids in building a strong working relationship and fostering a safe space for children and teens to explore their emotions and behaviors. I am also skilled in navigating couple, parent, and family issues by treating each individual as well as the whole system, ensuring everyone’s concerns and emotions are heard and addressed.
Experience:
I am a Master’s student at National University studying Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in child and adolescent family therapy. My bachelor’s is in Psychology with a concentration in child and adolescent development, and my associate’s is in early childhood development and education. As it can be seen, much of my educational background emphasizes child and adolescent development, aiding in providing therapy specialized for children, teens, and families. I have over ten years experience working with diverse families and family dynamics and love joining families in growing. I believe in treating the whole person and entire family system. I draw from Family Systems theory, attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Gottman method, and Emotion Focused Therapy to help connect families and give them the tools necessary to grow through challenges.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, my areas of focus include:
ADHD | Anxiety and Social Anxiety | Behavioral Issues | Co-Parenting | Depression | Family Dynamics | Family Mediation | Parenting Issues | Postpartum Counseling | Pre-Marital Counseling| and Relational Conflicts.
If you’re ready to get started, I offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. I would be honored to aid in navigating life’s challenges with you.
