Are you feeling disconnected? Do you feel like you are out to sea without an anchor? Many clients are clueless about why they keep having relational problems and wonder if they can ever have a consistent, peaceful and joyful relationship with their loved ones. My counseling philosophy is primarily CBT, Gottman Method, and attachment-based counseling. I believe that effective counseling should be holistic in nature, integrating the physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual aspects of a person’s life.
Using evidence-based theories and techniques, I help clients identify their unhealthy patterns of interaction, understand how that pattern evolved and develop a new, healthier pattern of interaction. Clients find themselves becoming more confident, self-aware, and able to make positive changes in their lives. As a result, clients are able to successfully sustain a healthy interactional pattern on their own without needing to rely on therapy.
During our counseling sessions, I will work collaboratively with you to identify your treatment goals, objectives for getting there, and practical interventions for you to meet your goals. I focus on helping clients overcome adversity, and instill skills that cultivate resiliency in the future.
Experience:
Alex is a student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) offering a Master of Arts in Counseling (Marriage and Family track). He just completed his practicum at Leege Magee Christian Counseling Centre in NOBTS, where he met with individuals, couples and families. Alex worked with Teens Aloud Foundation for over a decade, where he helped mentor many young people in Africa and North America and helped counsel those with addictions.
As a Counselor Trainee, my areas of focus include:
Teen Therapy | Support for parents | Anxiety | Depression | Trauma | Marriage and Family Counseling | Family Mediation
If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-min consult to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.
